Dr. Marc S. Cohen Is a double board-certified physician in anesthesia and pain management. He is a Florida native, originally born in Miami, spending most of his childhood in Boca Raton. He attended Emory University in Atlanta earning a B.S. in neuroscience and behavioral biology. As an undergraduate, he conducted research and published peer-reviewed articles at the Yerkes Primate Center. Dr. Cohen is an alumnus of Georgetown University where he earned an M.S. in physiology and biophysics. After graduation, he earned his M.D. at Tel Aviv University, Israel. He volunteered with global health organizations to help bring medical access to disadvantaged groups in the Middle East.
Dr. Cohen trained at Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York City, completing both his internal medicine internship and anesthesia residency. He has published several articles in medical journals and is the author in a leading textbook in his field. He went on to graduate from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completing his fellowship in interventional pain management. His skill set includes injections for chronic pain syndromes that affect the spine, joints, nerves, and muscles of the body. He focuses on procedures that save people from needing surgery, including epidurals, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, facet injections, spinal cord stimulation, DRG stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, MILD, joint injections, migraine treatment, regenerative medicine including PRP, and more.
Dr. Cohen maintains privileges at several hospitals in the area, including Boca Regional Hospital, Delray Medical Center, Broward Health System, Northwest Medical Center, and several surgical centers. He is also involved with medical societies, such as the American Society of Anesthesia and the Florida Medical Association.
For fun, Dr. Cohen likes to travel and spend time with his wife, child, and friends. Dr. Cohen likes taking advantage of the outdoors, including fishing and golf. He grew up enjoying surfing and was a musician in high school playing the classical clarinet and jazz saxophone.
